Intention Setting With Crystals

Did you know that it's important to set intentions with your crystals? While all crystals have certain properties that they naturally possess and things they can support you in, it's important to let your crystals know exactly what you would like them to help you with. And these intentions may change over time. Setting intentions with your crystals is a powerful exercise that can help you to bring more happiness, positive energy, healing, abundance and balance into your life. Whatever your goals are, they all begin with an intention, and your crystals are a useful tool to help set you on the right path to manifesting your personal dreams and goals. Crystals have immense healing power, and they also have the power to bring thoughts to fruition. Similar to writing a list or sketching an image, crystals serve as a visual reminder of the goals that we set ourselves, and can be used as a physical tool for manifestation in our intention setting routines.

If you are new to intention-setting or are looking for structured practice, we have devised a very simple three-step routine to allow you to set your intentions quickly and easily. This is, of course, just a guide and you can feel free to trust in your own intuition or gut feelings, as to how you feel you would like to do this or if you would like to add anything to the ritual. In fact, I think the more that you can make it your own, the more powerful the practice will be. However, this is a great framework to build upon....

1. Connect and Cleanse 

Each of us are drawn to different crystals for different reasons. It may be the colour or energy that resonates between you and a certain crystal. Or it may be that crystals individual properties that have drawn you to it or that you want to harness. What matters most is to trust in your intuition and go with what you feel drawn to, first and foremost. Once you have identified the crystal or crystals you want to use to set your intentions, ensure you cleanse it of any negative energy. 2. Intention Setting

Hold your crystal and clear your mind of any negativity. You may like to do a breathing exercise or meditate with your crystal for a few minutes. Choose an intention that is true to your short and long-term goals, trying not to be too specific or materialistic. A good rule of thumb, when asking the Universe for anything is to focus on a need, rather than just a want. With a still mind, focus on your crystal and your intention. You may want to describe your intention aloud or repeat it in your head, constantly focusing on the connection between your words and your crystal. Or you may choose to write your intentions down on a piece of paper. Some people even like to hold their crystals over their Third Eye, as they set their intentions. Again, it's important to do what feels right for you. Continue until your body and mind feel that your intention is set. 

3. Reaffirm your intention 

Once your intention is set, keep your crystal with you in order to keep your goal at the forefront of your mind. You may like to sleep with your crystals next to you. It is a good idea to try to keep them in your auric field as much as you can. Or you may like to take things to the next step and do a crystal grid, which you can have in your living or work space or even on your bedside table. 4. Give Thanks

It's important when doing any kind of work like this, that you also express your gratitude for your blessings and its a lovely way to end the ritual. This can be as simple as writing down 5 things you are grateful for, or you may like to do a prayer or make an offering to Mother Earth. Do whatever feels right for you and your personal belief system. 

Revisit and reset your intentions at regular intervals to ensure you continue moving along your personal spiritual path. Your intentions will, of course, change over time. You may like to do a monthly ritual of intention setting each New Moon, as this is a powerful time to do so.
